There’s something truly magical about capturing the horizon as day turns to night. This image, titled "Horizon Meets New Beginnings," captures that fleeting moment when the sun dips below the horizon, leaving behind a serene twilight. It’s a reminder that each sunset is the promise of a new day, a new beginning.
I shot this on my trusty Fuji XT-2 with a kit lens, which has become a go-to in my gear bag. The XT-2 is a brilliant camera that offers versatility and reliability, especially for those spontaneous moments that define my work as a street photographer.
For this shot, I used the following settings:
Shutter Speed: 1/60 sec
Aperture: f/8
ISO: 800
Focal Length: 18mm
I chose these settings to capture the ambient light just as the last rays of the sun disappeared. The aperture was set at f/8 to ensure sharpness across the frame, especially for the horizon and the ocean’s texture. The shutter speed was slow enough to allow just the right amount of light in without causing any blur in the water or the distant bridge. And with an ISO of 800, the Fuji XT-2 handled the low light beautifully, maintaining detail without introducing too much noise. This custom setting, or should I say my custom Fuji receipt for low-light shots, really brings out the best in the XT-2.
As a street photographer, moments like this are what I live for. Street photography isn't just about the hustle and bustle of city life—it's about finding those quiet, introspective moments that often go unnoticed. It's about seeing the world in a way that others might overlook.
